How do I get a fishing license?

You do not need a licence to fish on Guam. However, there are five Marine Preserves where you may use only limited kinds of gear, or none at all. Also remember that corals are protected and may not be taken from any area, even if they are dead.

How do I get a hunting license?

You need to submit an application to DAWR to hunt certain regulated species (pigs, deer, francolin). Click here for regulations, details on the application, and hunting areas.

How do I get a permit to bring live fish or plants to Guam?

You need to submit an application to DAWR. Certain species are prohibited either because they are endangered (e.g., fruit bats, turtles), or because they have been classified as pests (some water plants).... Click here for details on permits.

What is ciguatera and how do I avoid it?

Ciguatera is a kind of food poisoning resulting from eating certain reef fish. Larger/older predators such as moray eels and barracuda are the most likely sources of this poison in local fish. The toxin is produced by a microscopic alga and is concentrated up the food chain. More information.

What times are you open?

DAWR offices are open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays except holidays.

What do I do if I see a brown treesnake?

Kill it if possible, and report it to.... ???

I have an insect problem, can you help me?

Sorry. If you have a problem with insects, you should contact an entomologist at UOG College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (735- xxx) . DAWR does not handle bug problems.

I'm confused between Department of Agriculture and UOG College of Agriculture

The Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources (DAWR) is a branch of the GovGuam Department of Agriculture.
